Molly Buckley
As a legislative analyst, Molly examines state legislation with a focus on bills that impact free expression, digital privacy, online anonymity, and bodily autonomy. Over the years, she's worn several hats at EFF. As an activist, she led a campaign against online age-verification mandates; as a two-time legal fellow on the civil liberties team, she worked on First Amendment litigation and was a member of the Coder's Rights Project; and even earlier, as a legal intern, Molly learned the ropes of digital rights advocacy from her remarkable colleagues.
Before getting her law degree, Molly spent four years cutting her teeth as the lead paralegal for the ACLU's National Security Project. She also served as a bargaining committee member and Labor-Management Committee co-chair for the ACLU Support Staff Union during that time.
Molly holds a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was a Strauss Center National Security Law Fellow and Vice President of the Human Rights Law Society, and a B.A. in media studies and political science from Vassar College. In her spare time, she writes songs and plays music with friends.
